Holograms for Events in India: The Complete Guide to Holographic Displays (2026)

holograms for events in India - gokapture

Introduction

In India, corporate event walls, product launches and expos are quickly moving out of their flat LED walls and static backgrounds. With the attention span of today’s audiences becoming ever shorter, the holographic event technology has become the ultimate solution for experiential marketing. With photorealistic 3D visual effects seamlessly integrated with physical space, holograms for events in India blur the line between virtual and real images.

Why you Should Use Hologram for Your Next Event?

  • Unrivaled “Stop-and-Stare” Stopping Power: In bustling exhibition halls or large corporate events, holograms cut through the visual noise. The mid-air illusion creates instant curiosity and will lead to much greater foot traffic at your booth or on your stage.
  • Viral Social Media Amplification: With the built-in features, attendees will naturally capture and share holographic images to LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter/X. This naturally connects your event’s outside the box reach
  • High-Impact Telepresence: Without a geographical limitation or travel time of any kind, key leaders, international celebrity ambassadors, or subject-matter experts can present themselves in front of Indian audiences as if they were physically there, in a life-size, “real-feeling” presentation.
  • Enhanced Product Comprehension: When it comes to complex tech, intricate hardware, real estate blueprints or financial concepts, explaining it becomes simple when content can be rotated, exploded and dissected in mid-air in 3D.
  • Premium Brand Perception: The use of state-of-the-art visual technology instantly makes your brand look cutting edge, modern and industry leading.

What Is a Hologram — And What Isn't

Before booking a “hologram” for your next event, you need to know something the industry rarely tells you clearly:

True holograms don’t exist at live events.

A true hologram — the kind from Star Wars where Princess Leia appears floating in mid-air — requires laser-based photographic technology that is impossible to reproduce at scale for a live audience in real time.

What event companies in India call “holograms” are actually five distinct display technologies — each creating a different kind of visual illusion. Each has a different size, cost, use case, and wow factor.

GoKapture works with all five. And knowing the difference between them is the first step to choosing the right one for your event.

The 5 Types of Holographic Displays Used at Events in India

1. HoloBox — The Life-Size Transparent Display
What it is:
It’s a tall, boxy case that mounts to the wall and features a clear LCD or OLED display inside. An image of a person, a character or an object is shown on the screen, but the background is transparent, so that the image seems to be inside the box, and as if it exists in the real world.

The illusion: Transparency. The viewer can see through the cabinet — I think the figure looks like it is not connected to any screen, it’s floating in a space.

Sizes Available: Available in sizes of small table top units for products display, to life size 86” cabinets with a full human figure display.

What it looks like in practice: In reality it means that there is a life size brand ambassador or celebrity inside the cabinet, speaking, gesticulating or presenting, while guests gather around and interact. Celebrities were spotted inside the HoloBoxes, which left the spectators in Goanewoo amazed at MX Player’s event in Goa.
Best for:

  • Brand ambassador displays at exhibitions
  • Product Spokespersons at Launch Events
  • Permanent installations for retail & showroom.
  • If a virtual presenter is required, then award ceremonies are included.
  • Product education at stalls – Pharma and FMCG.

GoKapture advantage: We develop content as per your need; it can be a scripted presentation, product demo or even a branded character and run the display on premise in 9 cities across India.

2. HoloFan — The Floating Mid-Air Display

What it is: It’s a fan with an LED strip attached on its blades to the motor that can be individually addressed. It’s a LED light pattern that is illuminated exactly as the fan spins rapidly, making it look like a 3D floating image in mid-air. This effect is known as Persistence of Vision (POV).

The illusion: Speed. The fan rotates very quickly, and your eye can’t see the blades, only the glowing image they produce, which seems to be on a pedestal in the air.

Sizes available: 30cm desktop fans to 100cm+ large fans. A number of fans may be arrayed together to create a larger display.

What it looks like in practice: A 3D product, logo or character rotates in front of the guests, seemingly floating in the air. The real product is a “glowing” holograms version at product launches before the real product is unveiled. Company logos are set in rotation mid-air at the entrance at brand activations.

Best for:

  • Product launches – floating 3D preview of the product before it is revealed physically
  • Exhibition Stalls – The entrance to an exhibition is a place where you can instantly stop the crowd.
  • Brand Activations – To rotate the logo or mascot.
  • Retail – Product floating display for high value products
  • Award ceremonies – Trophy or Award floating before announcement

GoKapture advantage: Combining HoloFans with other activation elements: Using a HoloFan product preview in conjunction with an LED Launch Cube reveal or using HoloFans as part of a larger immersive installation.

3. HoloTube — The 360° Cylindrical Display

What it is: It’s a transparent cylinder that can be viewed from all angles, 360 degrees around the device. Content is displayed on a screen in a see-through cylinder, at the same time from all sides.

The illusion: Dimensionality. While a flat screen can only be viewed from the front, HoloTube enables guests to see the same floating content from every angle as they walk around it.

Sizes available: Tabletop cylinder units are generally between 30–80cm tall. Larger stand-up versions are available for events.

What it looks like in practice: A cylinder is lit up, and an object, like a car, jewellery or a model of a product, is placed inside and rotates. It may be walked around and viewed from all angles, giving the impression of a 3D object hanging in the middle.

Best for:

  • New car or bike model released (model shown in 3D)
  • Exhibitions for jewellery – rings or necklaces that rotate 360°.
  • This is for the display of a molecule or medical device with the pharma industry.
  • Exhibitions with multiple gateways from which visitors come from different directions

4. Holographic Pyramid — The Floating Miniature Display

What it is: A pyramid shape of four slanted clear glass or acrylic panels that cover a tablet or screen. There are 4 of the same screen content displayed, with each of the panels presenting one of them, which gives the impression that the screen is a 3D floating object within the pyramid.

The illusion: Reflection geometry. The four reflected images merge to form a single seemingly three-dimensional object floating in the pyramid structure.

Sizes available: Most common units are small desktop units (20-40cm). More can be achieved with larger custom builds.

What it looks like in practice: A small glowing object, logo or figure is suspended on the inside of a tabletop glass pyramid. Guests lean in to look — the object seems to be solid and three dimensional.

Best for:

  • Exhibition stalls / Tabletop product display – This would be a great space if it were a walk-in.
  • High-end shopping – jewellery, watches or a high-end product display
The brand will be displayed at Conference tables.
  • Gifting activations – corporate gifting before the product is given away.

Note: The Holographic Pyramid is best suited for small, detailed products. Not suitable for large format displays or for content that needs height and scale.

5. Pepper’s Ghost — The Full Stage Hologram
What it is: It’s a stage illusion method from the 19th century recreated for modern day events. On a stage, there is a large sheet of transparent glass or film that is slanted at a 45° angle. Brightly lit image or live feed is projected from below or off-stage, reflecting on the glass, giving a sense of transparency and ghostliness to the image visible from stage.

The illusion: Reflection. The audience can see the real stage, but they can also see the reflected image superimposed on the stage, giving the impression that the person is standing on the stage, but is not actually there.
What it looks like in practice: An afterlife celebrity on stage with live performers. A brand founder who can’t make it to an event seems life-size, addressing the audience. A 3D animated character plays with a live presenter on stage.

Famous examples globally: Tupac at Coachella 2012. Michael Jackson at the Billboard Music Awards 2014.

Best for:

  • Platforms that enable a virtual presenter to speak to an audience, like a large-scale product launch
  • Events that include a virtual celebrity or performer for entertainment purposes.
  • Town halls or conferences with a leadership figure who is visible in a hologram.
  • An animated mascot, who comes on stage life size, in a brand launch event.

GoKapture note: Pepper’s Ghost is a technical challenge that needs to be well planned, the stage needs to be well lit and there must be a good amount of space set up for the show. A high-investment activation, and works best for Cat C and Cat D events where there is dedicated stage space.

6. Mist / Fog Projection Screen
What it is: To produce a thin curtain of water mist or fog from a special machine. Video footage is displayed on this mist curtain, which forms a semi-transparent, ethereal floating image in mid-air from a high-powered projector.

The illusion: Translucency. The semi-transparency of the mist means that guests can see through the projection; the image looks like it is floating, with no screen behind it.

What it looks like in practice: It creates a brand logo or product video that glides and shimmers in the air, and guests can walk through it, which heightens the magical effect.

Best for:

  • Events and large format launches in the outdoors
  • Brand installations and themed experiences.
  • Product reveals of a dramatic and ethereal nature
  • Watching movies, or attending a party or concert
  • Luxury brand activations

7. HoloGauze / Holographic Mesh Screens
What it is: It’s a special kind of woven metal fabric, with a high transparency, that is hung over a stage or event space. The projectors have a high lumen output, projecting images onto the screen, and the ambient lighting is carefully controlled, letting light shine on the back.

The illusion: The sense of depth and presence in space. Under stage lighting, the ultra-thin mesh is almost invisible to the naked eye, making projected 3D animation look like they “float in mid-air”. The seamlessly layered, interactive stage moments are created when presenters, performers or physical products stand behind the mesh.

Sizes available: Compact 10′ theatrical setups, to large 30′ plus full stage rigs for auditoria and stadium applications.

What it looks like in practice: A speaker steps onto a main conference stage in Bengaluru, and vibrant 3D visuals, tech diagrams or virtual brand elements hover directly in front of them in mid-air. The floating light visuals seem to interact with the speaker in real time as he/she touches, moves, and interacts with them.

Best for:

  • Large-scale, corporate conference keynotes and CEO speeches.
  • Full stage launches for storytelling products.Full-stage storytelling product launches.
  • Use interactive visual performances or virtual unveilings to award.
  • FMCG, automotive, and tech keynotes with intricate elements scaled up.
  • Gala nights, theatrical launch events and concerts

GoKapture advantage: We offer all-in-one HoloGauze solution from professional stage rigging, high lumen laser projection, specialized 3D spatial content design to live technical execution across 9 cities in India.

Frequently Asked Questions About Holograms at Events

What are the differences between a HoloFan and a HoloBox?
The HoloFan is a spinning LED device that produces a mid-air image using the effect of “persistence of vision. It’s perfect for product displays and brand logos. The HoloBox is a tall and transparent cabinet to present a life size or large figure (ideal for virtual presenters, brand ambassadors and spokespersons).
Yes. All the holographic displays GoKapture deploys are fully branded with product animation, videos with a spokesperson and themed environments. Going beyond, all GoKapture packages include content creation.
HoloFans and HoloBoxes are best suited to be used in controlled interior lighting. Mist screens can be used in the indoor and outdoor environment. Pepper’s Ghost is very strict about its setting; it must be dark and controlled and is strictly indoor.
A HoloFan or HoloBox needs little room – most of the configurations need only 2 x 2 metres. The amount of stage space needed for a Pepper’s Ghost installation is considerable, 6×4 metres is the minimum.
For typical hologram deployments, GoKapture advises the user to book at least 3–4 weeks ahead of time. The creation of custom content for Pepper’s Ghost or large format HoloBox takes at least 6-8 weeks.
Yes. It is known as Holographic Telepresence. With the help of a HoloBox or Pepper’s Ghost configuration, a speaker may be present in an event space in a life-size and real-time, but physically in another location. This is offered by GoKapture for corporate conferences and town halls.
For most exhibition stalls, HoloFan is the optimal solution as it draws visitors from a distance, takes up very little room and generates instant curiosity. A HoloBox is more suitable for brands that require a product spokesperson.
This is a long way from experimentation in 2026 as far as India is concerned. Businesses are now using it with great activity to share ideas, highlight products, and build better connections with their audiences. GoKapture has been bringing holographic displays to Indian corporate events for a few years now – from product launches, exhibitions, conferences, and brand activation events in 9 metro cities.
